NYW Timeline
- 1905 - Nathan Rothenberg arrived from Eastern Europe and founded N. Rothenberg & Son in New York.
- 1930 - Morris Rothenberg moved the operation to the Lower East Side in Manhattan.
- 1940 - Morris son Marvin Rothenberg joined the company and decided to explore new markets.
- 1949 - Marvin arrived in Puerto Rico and saw great potential for used clothing and opened a small warehouse in Santurce. Under his direction, the company expands from used clothing to government surplus business and establishes a manufacturing company producing industrial wiping material. The company was named NEW YORK WIPING PRODUCTS (NYW)
- 1960-1970 - NEW YORK WIPING PRODUCTS expanded its business catering to manufacturing companies that were growing rapidly throughout the island.
- 1980-Morris Rothenberg, grandson, joined the company after graduating from University.
- 1987-Marvin Rothenberg passed away and Morris became President.
- 1992-Morris moved the company to an innovative 16,000 square foot facility in Amelia Distribution Center in Guaynabo.
- 1996-The company expands once again and adds new safety product lines. It is renamed NEW YORK WIPING & INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS CO INC
- 2000-2007 - A retail subdivision of NYW PRODUCTS is created carrying safety-related products under the trade name SAFETY ZONE.
